I have a buddy on a 5900x and some 3xx nvidia gpu with the same results. And when running Gw2 at Dx9 when I still have way over 100fps the temps are much lower aswell, its like their Dx11 engine is just using too much resources. Helps eliminate FPS lags and slowdowns from your other apps for smooth visuals. Like I said in Destiny 2,different engine and all,but when having way over 100 fps maxed out my temps rarely reach 60c even, both CPU and GPU. Detects full-screen games and feeds them maximum CPU power. Its just the only game I play where my temps get this high,I mean its still normal but I just like to have lower temps. I know bios in and out,and I know about fan curves etc and have adjusted LLC aswell. Undervolting do require you to know what you're doing in the bios though and be used to stability testing. Less watt = less heat and you'll probably have marginal fps drops for substantial drops in wattage. If you want to hunt even more temps, then it's fan curve tweaking (obviously, or a new cooler lol), underclocking (check how all core OC is set up) and in particular undervolting can give you quite a bit of gains. Since it has a benchmark graph built in it was easy to see the difference. Turning that off and setting it to 60 fps in the options instead was buttery smooth. It jumped from 60 to 20 fps constantly with noticable stuttering and "laggy" graphics at first for no apparent reason since I didnt think the driver cap would be at fault. I would always advice using ingame limiter wherever possible.Īs a not GW2 example, I had 60 fps framerate limiter in driver but asscreed odyssey did NOT like being driver capped. You can use the ingame limiter for this but the best way is to use Rivatuner. It might help some people.ĭo want to add that this not happen when using the Dx12 mod ( which even gave me higher fps overall ) before Anet implemented Dx11. PCH/MOS/CPU/GPU/MEM/Nvme are all much lower. And when limiting the fps it just makes a massive difference in temps overall. But like Destiny 2 for e.g ( I know completely different engine ) all maxed out when having over 100fps my Cpu hits around 60 ( In here 70 ) and my Gpu is between 48 - 60, ( In here max 70). I just noticed my temps went a bit haywire in this game compared to other games, dunno why. But im ok with 60fps in this game and it doesnt drop below it even in heavy WvW blob fights. For me personally theres a big diff between 60 - 120fps. Nah its not that i just mean 100+ fps on a gynsync monitor feels smoother as 60 fps. It's a problem if Gsync/Freesync doesn't work with DX11, but this game runs well below 60fps most of the time, in large scale events anyway.Īt least my 5800x3d 3.9ghz runs just below 70 degrees while playing GW2, which is known to run hot.
